Selection, Hiring, Orientation and Training. Selection process of our Caregivers quality starts with the Selection process. Not everyone meets the qualities we seek in our Caregivers – Caring & Compassion.
Employment Hotline. All interested applicants are directed to call our Employment Hotline, 716/568-2019, to learn more about the Aide position. We want all applicants to know as much about the position and our special dedication to helping Seniors in a faith-based manner.
Application. All applicants must come to our office to obtain an application or download the application from our website, www.goodsamaritancaregivers.com.
Interviews. Each applicant is interviewed. We are seeking only those Aides who can demonstrate examples of caring and compassion.
Reference Checking. After a face to face interview, we call all former employers and personal references provided. We want a full profile from all former business relations and personal acquaintances.
Screening. Following extensive background checks, including references, criminal and DMV checks, only those selected are invited to our Orientation.
Orientation. In Orientation our Caregivers learn our unique approach to assisting seniors. All Aides are presented materials that provides them with our Mission, Values and Philosophy.
Training. Our proprietary Certified Companion Aide (CCA®) Program is nationally recognized certification program offered to our professional staff of caregivers. Each Good Samaritan CareGiver is trained and tested in 19 subject areas, ranging from transferring to dementia. This certification is managed and directed by TSC and can only be offered by their members.
Specialized Training. At Good Samaritan we work closely with a number of professional organizations. We have obtained training materials from the Alzheimer’s Association that we use to train any Aide who works with any Client with memory issues.
